Dark Vs Light Furniture

Have you ever been stuck between picking something, and not sure which way was the best way? Well now I was recently in that dilemma. I couldn't decide between light wallpaper, or dark wallpaper. My furniture is dark mahogany wood, and my floor is light oak wood. In the end my partner decided we would go with the dark wallpaper, because this way, it 'ties' my furniture to the feature wall and we injected some colour using fabrics (lamp shades, curtains, rug etc) which really provides a nice contrast to the dark furniture.
